Social media seems like something you would want to avoid using — what with disinformation and opportunities for embarrassment that could lead to problems, both professional and personal.

But what if social media could actually be a useful tool in your journalism career?

Join us to talk about its power and how to leverage it to the good.

Kassy Cho is the founder and editor-in-chief of Almost, an Instagram-first news outlet. She previously was an audience development editor at QuickTake by Bloomberg and at BuzzFeed News. She has helped Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Channel 4 News, WaterAid and Flo grow their digital audiences.

Selma Khenissi, who co-chairs the DC Pro Chapter’s Foreign Press Liaison Committee and serves on the chapter’s board of directors, will ask Kassy Cho questions submitted in advance and discuss matters of interest to working journalists. Selma is a drug industry daily reporter at FDAnews. She has previously written for Oncology Data Advisor and POPSUGAR.

There will be time allowed for audience questions as well.

After you register, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar next Thursday.
