SDX-DC Foundation Seeks Journalism Scholarship Applicants

The Sigma Delta Chi Foundation of Washington, D.C. (SDXDC), the nonprofit, education arm of the Washington, D.C., Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, is accepting applications for its 2019-20 academic year scholarships for students who are rising juniors and seniors attending colleges and universities in the region. The deadline for applying is February 6, 2019.

Applicants must be a current sophomore or junior in the spring 2019 semester.

In 2019, SDX will also make available one scholarship for area high school seniors who plan to enroll in an area community college, or current local community college students for the 2019-20 academic year. All applicants must show a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in journalism.

Scholarships of at least $3,000 each will be awarded to four-year college applicants selected from the 2019-20 scholarship competition. Veteran journalists affiliated with SDX also offer free mentorships to our scholarship awardees. Capture
