Job Fair

Dear Job Seekers:

We, the Washington, D.C. chapter presidents of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Asian American Journalists Association, the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Washington Association of Black Journalists, are pleased to announce our 2nd annual joint job fair.

The Washington, D.C. Area Journalism Job Fair hosted by Georgetown University’s Master’s in Journalism Program will be held Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Washington. Doors close at 1:30 p.m.  

The job fair will take place at the Georgetown Downtown campus, located at 640 Massachusetts Ave. NW, just two blocks from the Gallery Place Metro Station.

We confirmed four people were hired from our job fair last year. This year, we are adding registration deadlines. This will give us a better understanding of how many of you will attend the job fair. Once again, you will have access to meet with hiring managers here in D.C. and beyond.

Registration is $15 beginning Monday, March 2 –Friday, March 13. We encourage you to register online. You can still register on-site for a fee of $20.

 

We also need your help securing recruiters. In the next few days, we will request that you ask your employer to recruit at the fair. The early-bird special for a table is $100 from now until Sunday, February 1. Registration is $150 beginning Monday, February 2 – Sunday, March 1. Last-Call is $200 which is March 2 – March 6. We will strictly follow these deadlines. We encourage you to have your employer register early. We will send a letter you can give to your hiring manager or human resources representative.
