In other SDX Foundation news, here are several career updates for scholarship recipients:
Among 2011 recipients:
— Matt Rist, a George Washington University graduate, wrote in late November 2013 that he is now a reporter for the CBS affiliate KOSA-TV in Midland/Odessa, Texas, a position in West Texas he has held since January 2013. Very much appreciating the assist to his college work that his SDX Foundation scholarship provided, he shared that he was also looking forward to joining SPJ soon after his note and planned to submit some of his work for Sigma Delta Chi awards competition in February.
Among 2012 recipients:
— Priya Anand, also a George Washington University graduate, recently completed an internship at Bloomberg News.
— Rachel Karas, an American University graduate, is a reporter for the Frederick (Md.) News-Post.
Among 2013 recipients:
— Brian Compere, University of Maryland, has been selected a Dow Jones News Fund intern, which will take him to the Tampa Tribune upon graduation.
— Zachary Cohen, American University, has completed his fall semester study abroad in Costa Rica, and is set to complete his final semester before graduating in the spring of 2014.
