Pro Chapter of SPJ Nov. 20 for “The Power of the Pen: Political Cartooning,” with artist Christopher Weyant, whose work appears in The Hill newspaper and The New Yorker. One of his original drawings will be given away as a door prize. (See examples of his work at www.christopherweyant.com)

The George Washington University School for Media & Public Affairs will co-sponsor the program at 805 21st St. NW, Room 307, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Weyant, a New Jersey native and a product of 12 years of Catholic schools, says both experiences led to a life of humor and satire. His work has been published worldwide in books, newspapers, magazines, and online, and he has contributed work to national advertising campaigns. His cartoons are in permanent collection at The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City. “The Today Show,” “Meet The Press,” "ABC News With Diane Sawyer," CNN, MSNBC, and Fox have featured Weyant's cartoons.
