The DC SPJ board decided to send money to help the flood-stricken journalists of Iowa.
We received a nice letter from the Iowa Newspaper Foundation thanking us for the $338 (one dollars for each chapter member) we sent for the Iowa Newspaper Employees Disaster Relief Fund.
“Your support will have a direct impact in the newspaper employees who have lost their homes and/or belongings due to tornado and flood damage that has ravaged our state. Iowa’s newspaper community has been deeply touched by the way our industry has come together to support our colleagues in need,” said Jennifer Asa, the foundation’s director.
