Gunston Hall commemorates the 247th anniversary of the 1776 Virginia Declaration of Rights. Including Section 12: “That the freedom of the press is one of the great bulwarks of liberty, and can never be restrained but by despotic governments.”
The Virginia Declaration, written by George Mason, was the basis for the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Gunston Hall will have a variety of activities and opportunities including museum theater performances, live music – Washington Camerata, a special naturalization ceremony, birthday cake and more!
