Ayesha Tanzeem is the Bureau Chief for Pakistan & Afghanistan for Voice of America. She is one of a few foreign correspondents that has traveled to areas under the control and influence of the Islamic State militant group while it was at the peak of its power in eastern Afghanistan in 2015. She will give the SPJ International Community a first-hand look at the situation journalists — especially female journalists — face in Afghanistan.
