PRESIDENT’S REPORT
- — Update on nomination, audit committees.
- — Have volunteer lined up to monitor our membership roster on regular basis for new members, lapsed members, national members who aren’t chapter members
- — More responses to our Facebook notice about chapter needing help
PROGRAMS
- — Feb. 22 mixer in Clarendon with Georgetown’s student chapter (5:30-7 p.m.).
- — Invite to our chapter to be part of an April job fair bringing together as sponsors various J-groups – the job fair would be for our various’ groups’ members looking foe work/new job. It’s being organized by Brandon Benavides (president of DC chapter of NAHJ)
- — The Open Government Coalition on Sunshine Week calendar for a program March 13 in the Holeman Lounge at NPC; SPJ-DC chapter will share cost of food and help with publicity. (Bob)
- — Need to firm up program with Sunlight Foundation program idea; update if any on planning a program with Franklin Center (Amy); scheduling happy hours for January and February.
- — March program planned by freelancers’ group.
TREASURER’S REPORT
- — Also review new national SPJ requirements for financial transparency by all chapters; what we’re already doing, what we need to do.
OLD BUSINESS
- — Report by Joel Whitaker on the Dateline Awards contest; what has been done to date.
- — Update (if there is any) on plans for Dateline Awards banquet. (Andy)
- — Hall of Fame nominees (Steve).
NEW BUSINESS
- — Revamping newsletter; story ideas, assignments for Winter issue.
