You are now members (in fact the only members besides me) of the
Freelancers’ discussion group. For Stephenie’s benefit, here’s how it
works.
1. To start a new discussion topic you send an email to
freelancers@spjdc.org.
2. To respond to something already posted you reply to sender, putting
your comments at the top, above the quoted stuff.
3. You should be able to attach files to emails and have them become
attachments to the content created on the website. Attachments should be
sent along with the outgoing messages, but I’m not sure that is working
yet, and I have not tested it.
Only members of the group can post to it, and only members of the group
can subscribe to the emails. The posted stuff is on the website, but it
should only be visible to members of the group. No one can join the
group without approval from the administrator of it.
For now the emails you receive, particularly comments on prior posts, it
will look pretty ugly because I have not set up the templates to
properly format the emails that are sent out.
We should discuss how you want to administer the group. We also need to
test the attachments process. All of this will take a little time to set
up and make reliable. But the initial setup of getting messages and
forwarding them to the group is in place.
You will note that this message is a new discussion in the group.
