Come to the D.C. Pro chapter’s annual summer picnic Sunday, Aug. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. at YardsPark, on the Anacostia River just south of Capitol Hill and east of Nationals Ballpark. The picnic area will be in the Overlook section of the park. Look for SPJ signs.
The chapter will provide plates, cups and soft drinks, but food is potluck, so bring a dish to share:
Last names starting with
- A-H, main dish
- I-Q, salads/side dish
- R-Z, dessert.
The closest Metro stop is Navy Yard on the Green Line (use the exit for U.S. Transportation Department, not Nats ballpark). Some street parking is available. There is no charge for metered parking on Sunday, but be aware of areas marked “No Parking.” A parking lot with a flat $5 fee is at Tingey and Fourth Streets NE.
Full details about the park, including directions and more about Metro accessibility, can be found at www.yardspark.org. Click on “Park Map” to see the Overlook section.
Please RSVP to D.C. Pro Vice President Jenn Rowell at rowell83@gmail.com.
