D.C. 
ventured into Maryland on Sunday, July 26, to take in baseball and bobbleheads.
Members of the D.C. Pro chapter met at Prince George’s Stadium to watch the home Baysox take on the Reading Phillies.
The Baysox were giving away bobblehead likenesses of ESPN anchor Scott Van Pelt, who grew up in Brookeville in Montgomery County, Md.
The
D.C. Pro contingent was early for the game, but late for the bobbleheads – 11 minutes too late, according to a woman who took our tickets.
No matter. We snacked on ballpark food (the cheese-filled pretzels are excellent) and watched Van Pelt sign a ton of bobbleheads as the Phillies topped the Baysox, 2-0, in a well-pitched game by both sides.
Afterward, hundreds of children – we kid you not – ran the bases before we saw a pretty good fireworks show.
If you’d like to join us for baseball, we’re planning to do it again – Sept. 6 at Nationals Park, for the Nationals vs. the Marlins.
