News organizations in the Washington, D.C. area submitted 174 entries for this year’s Dateline Awards competition for journalism excellence.
The total is one of the highest in the contest’s history.
This year, judging will be done by SPJ’s Connecticut Pro chapter. In turn, the D.C. Pro chapter will judge Connecticut’s journalism competition.
Dateline Awards will be given out at the June 9 Hall of Fame dinner at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Finalists will be notified in advance.
