The board of Washington, D.C. chapter of SPJ needs you! We have two vacancies our board – an officer slot and a director slot. The officer opening is for corresponding secretary, who handles some publicity needs of the chapter and is responsible for sending correspondence on behalf of the chapter when the need arises. We also have an open slot for to finish out a term for a departing director. Term ends June 2015. In between a chapter general election, the board votes on candidates to fill empty slots. You must be a local chapter member in good standing and at a minimum you must make a solid commitment to attend the board’s regular monthly meeting. Officers and directors also pitch in, as they can, on various chapter activities beyond regular board meetings.
