Travels with Nancy: Washington Post writer to share exploits with D.C. Pro

Travel writing for The Washington Post has taken staff writer Nancy Trejos most recently to York, Pa., where she toured a soap-making enterprise; to a fitness boot camp; to Isle La Motte, Vt., on Lake Champlain; and on a bus tour of New York City that was, as she described, a city tour, improv show and street theater all rolled into one.

Come hear Trejos talk about her travel writing and other assignments and life at the Post over lunch Tuesday, May 24, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the National Press Club. The event, sponsored by the D.C. Pro chapter, will be in the McClendon Room.

Members and nonmembers are welcome. The cost is $15 (which includes coffee, tea or soda). Dessert and alcoholic beverage are extra.

An RSVP is required. Send an email to chapter Vice President Julie Asher at jasher@catholicnews.com or call her at (240) 460-6612.

Trejos has been at the Post since 1999. A 1998 graduate of Georgetown University, she worked for a year at The Los Angeles Times before joining the Post.

She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She also is the author of a new book titled “Hot (Broke) Messes: How to Have Your Latte and Drink it Too,” which is part memoir and part personal finance advice book.
