Homicide Watch D.C. looking for help

We recently heard from Laura Norton Amico about a project called Homicide Watch D.C. She asked us to share information with the chapter. Please contact her at LauraNortonAmico@gmail.com if you'd like to help.

She wrote:

Homicide Watch D.C. currently has a pitch on Spot.Us, a crowd-sourced journalism funding network that members might be aware of. We have proposed a four month reporting project to use Document Cloud to publish all court documents in current murder cases in D.C. Spot.Us collects donations of money and talent. Homicide Watch needs a bit of a push right now and member help would be fantastic. Spot.Us is also a wonderful resource for journalists.

Homicide Watch D.C. debuted about three months ago as a community news and reporting project covering homicides in the District of Columbia. Already people are using the site to follow case updates and share memories of loved ones.

Our fundraising effort specifically covers creating a digital library for court documents. We are $2,000 away from our goal and need some help. If you can not make a donation, I encourage you to click “Free Credits” and support HWDC by allowing a company to make a donation in your name. And, while at Spot.Us, take a moment to look through the great work others are doing as well.

Thanks for your help!
