As best as we can tell, the D.C. Pro chapter started Jan. 1, 1936. That makes us 75 years old in 2011. And we plan to celebrate.
D.C. Pro member Austin Kiplinger of the Kiplinger Washington Editors graciously has agreed to host a party for the occasion in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The connection is perfect – Kiplinger joined SPJ (Sigma Delta Chi at the time) in 1936 and also is celebrating 75 years, along with us.
The D.C. Pro chapter is working on plans for the party. You will hear more from us about this soon.
We have invited SPJ President Hagit Limor to be there, too.
