There's less than a month to go for aspiring college journalists in the Washington, D.C., area to apply for a college grant from the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation, the education arm of the Washington,D.C., Pro Chapter. Detailed information can be located on the foundation's web site:www.sdxdc.org.

Up to five scholarships worth $4,000 each will be awarded by the foundation for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Applications for the scholarships must be postmarked by Dec. 21.

Current freshmen, sophomores and juniors with a demonstrated interest in journalism (not necessarily a major in journalism) should apply.

Again, the scholarship program information and application form can be located on the foundation's web site: www.sdxdc.org.

A portion of DC SPJ chapter dues goes toward support of these scholarship.
