The Boston Globe did a story about a study of Brazilian and Dominican immigrants.
This is a good example of a domestic issue — situation of local group and possible policy implications — that has international connections. I hope the Globe looks at issues other than those raised in the study that was the basis for the story.
The Globe — without much extra effort — could use the study data and information from the U.S. Census Bureau to dig out a lot more information about the Brazilian and Dominican communities in Massachusetts and the rest of the country. They could also look at the situations that prompted the influx of immigrants. (What were/are the political, economic, social issues that led the immigrants to leave their countries and come to the USA? How has the situation changed since then, if it has?)
