The Washington Post reported yesterday and today that Rahman Bunairee, a reporter with Voice of America was detained Sunday, August 9, at Dulles Airport by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Bunairee has been targeted by Taliban militants becuase — according to him — he had spoken negatively of the Taliban in a radio report. His house was destroyed by the Taliban while his family was forced to watch.
Bunairee was coming to the U.S. for a one-year assignment with VOA.
