The buzz over the Aug. 16 D.C. Pro picnic attracted about 20 people and at least as many bees.
Our annual potluck social event was held at Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C.
The menu included salads, chicken, bread, drinks and several desserts.
Before the picnic, the new D.C. Pro board held its first meeting. New board member Garth Hogan was sworn in as a new board member.
After everyone ate, six people stayed for a free jazz concert at Carter Barron Amphitheatre.
Thee military bands played that evening — the U.S. Navy Commodores, the U.S. Army Blues and the U.S. Airmen of Note.
All were good, but the Airmen of Note won over some extra fans by giving out free CDs of their music at the end.
