Bob Schieffer’s band, Honky Tonk Confidential, will perform with him at the the D.C. Pro Chapters annual Dateline Awards Dinner June 9 at the National Press Club. The band, which has played at the Grand Ole Opry, the Kennedy Center and the Waldorf Astoria, will entertain when Schieffer, Gwen Ifill, moderator of Washington Week, Kenneth Walsh, U.S. News & World Report White House correspondent, and Toby McIntosh, of BNA, are inducted into the chapter Hall of Fame, and Courtland Milloy, Washington Post columnist, receives the Distinguished Service Award.
Schieffer’s band mates include Diana Quinn on rhythm guitar, Mike Woods on lead guitar, Sam Goodall on bass and Mark Lindamood on drums. Together they play country with a political/Washington bent.
Dinner will include
- Cured Salmon with a Terrine of Goat Cheese and Roasted Tomatoes
- Sautéed Fresh Halibut on a Salad of Pea Sprouts, Fresh Corn and Carrot-Ginger Sauce
- Fresh Berry Short Cake
Tickets the dinner, which begins with a reception at 6 p.m., are $100 each for chapter members and one guest per member, $125 for non-members who make advance reservations, and $150 at the door.
