Your local chapter received the following note from the national SPJ office:
Please take time to read the proposals (available here: http://www.spj.org/proposedamendments.asp) and share them with your chapter members. Delegates to the Excellence in Journalism 2016 conference, which will be Sept. 18-20 in New Orleans, will be asked to vote on the proposals.
As stated in our bylaws, only delegates in attendance at EIJ16 will be allowed to vote on the proposed amendments.
