Max Cacas, former chapter board member and Washington Nationals fanatic, passed away Dec. 8.
Max’s career included reporting and producing for NPR, the Freedom Forum, Federal News Radio and SIGNAL Magazine. He was also a journalism prof at the University of Maryland and a podcaster.
The SPJ DC chapter benefited greatly from his contributions to our organization. We send our sympathies and best wishes to his wife, Lisa, and family.
Friends can pay their respects Dec. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Internment will be held on Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Max Cacas Scholarship Fund at Gonzaga College High School. Checks should be made out to Gonzaga College High School, 19 I St., NW, Washington, DC 20001.
